The Digital Democracy Camp
The Digital Democracy Camp (DDC) is a one-day workshop focusing on the fundamentals and key topics of digital democracy.
In an exchange between students, experts and interested parties, we will deal with the following topics:
- Shutting down social networks - saving democracy?
- From global politics to KIT - Are we being ruled by oligarchs?
- Digital participation in the neighborhood - Is civil society being left behind?
- Citizens' councils as a student participation format: What can high-quality dialog do that voting cannot?
- Back to Basic: Why do we want digital democracy at all? What skills do we need at KIT to constructively engage in discourse?
The main topics were developed in a participatory manner with students in the Future of Democracy seminar, among others. They were developed together with experts and with the help of a specially developed chatbot.
The topics will be moderated by:
Dr. Simon Derpmann (KIT - ARRTI), Hannes Haßmann (Uni Tübingen), Sarah Herrmann (KIT - HoC), Anika Kaiser (Uni Tübingen), Dr. Alexa Maria Kunz (KIT - HoC), Prof. Dr. Michael Mäs (KIT - HoC), Dr. Brigitte Reiser (lpb), Paul Wiesen (KIT - Student)
The workshop will also be enriched by other participants from the fields of democracy education and student participation.
